Meet Your New Co-Pilot: Google Gemini Arrives in Acura Models with Google Built-In

Speaking with your Acura is becoming far more natural. Acura Canada has announced that Google Gemini is coming to vehicles equipped with Google built-in, providing drivers with a more intelligent hands-free assistant that understands everyday requests and follows context throughout a conversation.

Less Commanding, More Talking

Traditional voice assistants often expect you to phrase a request a certain way. Gemini changes that approach. Drivers can speak more naturally, ask follow-up questions and give layered instructions without constantly repeating information. Instead of simply asking for the nearest restaurant, for example, a driver could ask for a dinner spot suitable for a family with a toddler. Gemini can understand that extra context and respond accordingly.

Gemini Live Goes Further

Gemini Live expands the experience beyond quick vehicle-related requests. Saying “Hey Google, let’s talk” starts a more free-flowing conversation. Acura says drivers can use it to help plan weekend trips, discover family activities, summarize news or brainstorm ideas while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Which Acura Models Get Gemini?

In Canada, availability applies to select Acura vehicles with Google built-in:

  •         2024 Acura ZDX: all trims
  •         2025 and newer Acura MDX: all trims
  •         2026 and newer Acura ADX: Platinum Elite A-Spec

Compatibility and connected-app availability can vary, and some apps require setup.
